Moda vintage en Malasaña
Como
verdadera amante del barrio de Malasaña, he decidido dedicarle un
post sobre las tiendas vintage
de la zona. Seguramente, a más de uno nos llaman la atención, ya
sea por sus prendas y accesorios retro que reflejan la imagen de las
décadas anteriores, o por su decoración, ya que en la mayoría
poseen antigüedades, como reproductores de vinilo, radios y muebles
clásicos. Todas estas tiendas están acompañadas de buena música,
por ejemplo, escuché la famosa canción de ‘Walk on the Wilde
Side’ del mítico Lou Reed, e inmediatamente me transporté a los
comienzos de aquellos maravillosos 70.
As a true lover of Malasaña neighborhood, I have decided to dedicate it a post about the vintage shops in the zone. Probably, it is very appealing for many of us, either by its retro clothes and accessories, which reflect the image of previous decades; or by its decoration, since in great part of the shops you can find antiques such as vinyl players and old radios and furniture. All these shops have good music: for example, I had the chance to listen to the famous song Walk on the Wild Side, by the mythical Lou Reed, and I immediately traveled to the beginning of the nice seventies.

En
cuanto a la ropa, podías encontrar de todas las épocas, y por
supuesto, de tendencia, gracias a la predilección de lo retro y
extravagante en la moda actual. Por ejemplo, camisas estampadas,
parkas verdes, chaquetas de cuero, abrigos boho, pantalones vaqueros,
chaquetas oversize, jerseys ochenteros,… En los accesorios,
localizamos gafas sesenteras, pajaritas, tirantes, pulseras y
collares, imprescindibles para completar un look moderno. Lo bueno es
que todo lo encontramos a buen precio, y a pesar de que son de
segunda mano, están en buen estado, ;)
Regarding clothes, you could find them from all
periods, and, of course, clothing which is decidedly trendy, thanks to the
predilection for retro and extravagance of the current fashion. For instance,
printed shirts, green parkas, leather jackets, boho coats, jeans, oversize
jackets, 80’s sweaters…Among accessories, we can see 60’s glasses, bow ties,
braces, bracelets and collars, which are essential to complement a modern look.
One of the positive things is that you can find everything at a good price, and
despite of being second-hand things, they are in good condition ;)

la tienda Williamsburg,

Finalmente,
me gustaría hablaros de otra tienda del icónico barrio de Malasaña,
Holy
Cuervo.
Esta tienda logró captar mi atención inmediatamente gracias a su
gran dedicación a la música. En ella, encontramos grandes
colecciones de LP, pero más cercanos al hard rock y heavy metal,
contando con grupos como Iron
Maiden
o Judas
Priest, además
de recientes grupos españoles, como Le
Traste, Giganto, o
His
Majesty the King. Por
otro lado, Holy
Cuervo dispone
de un local de ensayo de grupos, y realización de conciertos, que
por cierto, mañana a las 14 horas, hay uno que no os podéis
perder!!!
La tienda posee
también de ropa alternativa y artesanías hechas por ellos, que
veréis en las fotos ;)
Finally, I want to speak about other shop placed in
the iconic Malasaña neighborhood, Holy
Cuervo. This establishment caught my attention immediately thanks to its
great dedication to music. Here you find big LP collections, although they are
more related to hard rock and heavy metal, with groups such as Iron Maiden or
Judas Priest. Also Spanish and new groups: Le Traste, Giganto or His Majesty
the King. On the other hand, Holy Cuervo
has a rehearsal space for music groups where they also can give a concert. By
the way, tomorrow at 2 pm there will be one that you can’t miss!!!
